Joa-Chim, aka Joachim Kreitmair: born 1960 near Munich/Germany.
He started expressing himself through abstract art in the mid seventies
using river stone and shaped timber.
His creative endeavours since 1980 include the restoration of farmhouse
furniture and the design and making of contemporary furniture.
His formal education led to a degree in financial science and 15 years
of employment in various government departments.
Since moving to New Zealand in 1995 he is focused on his sculpture
and more recently also the painting of large abstracts. From 1997
Joachim took part in many major shows incl. the Norsewear art award
and Sculpture OnShore.
His work is held in private collections within NZ as well as Overseas and
has been featured in numerous publications such as NZ House and Garden.
